Why Watcher of Realms Feels Like Magic to Me
I’ve spent most of my life playing strategy games, and for a long time nothing really gave me the same feeling Magic: The Gathering did when I first discovered it.
Then I started playing Watcher of Realms.
Not because it plays like Magic — it doesn’t.
But because it scratches the same itch: puzzle solving, iteration, and that moment where everything finally clicks.
I made a video trying to explain exactly why.
At its core, the comparison comes down to one thing: puzzle solving.
Magic and Watcher of Realms are obviously very different games, but both reward adaptation, experimentation, and finding the right answer with limited resources.
That “aha” moment is what keeps me coming back.
If you’ve played both games, I’d be curious to hear whether you feel the same way.
